PL Biotech is an organization associating Polish American Scientists of all disciplines in greater San Diego area. The group counts presently about 50 active members and constitutes a networking platform for Polish scientists in the region. Its main goals include the integration of the local Polish research community, as well as the popularization of current knowledge among science enthusiasts by regularly organizing scholarly seminars and discussion meetings.

The association was established in May 2004 in the Scripps Research Institute by Dr. Piotr Sobieszczuk.  Between August 2007 and December 2008 PL Biotech was headed by Dr. Małgorzata Czarny and the meetings were taking place in the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.

Since 2009 the association has been located in the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology.

During the years 2009 – 2014 the meetings were organized by Dr. Dariusz Stępniak and Dr. Zbigniew Mikulski.  In November 2014, as his family was about to enlarge, Dr. Stępniak handed down his function to Dr. Halina Witkiewicz who currently continues to organize the meetings together with Dr. Zbigniew Mikulski.
